12 valve injectors?

well, that's good to know. when i spoke with lenny he said that he made 700 or so hp with the dd3's(?). he was calling them a 100hp injector. maybe it's got something to do with how much fuel the pump can push through them? i think i'd like edm's myself. just having trouble sourcing them.

I have heard some preliminary feedback on these nozzles... . they go provide more power than the Lucas and they are apparently cleaner running to boot.....

The injectors that were being tested were the "Stage 4" injector. There is also apparently a stage 3 set as well.....

Swank, I will be trying out a set of F1 9mm tipped edm's from Daniel Puckett. He said they are stock flow, recently cleaned and set by Don M. Non-intercooled stockers flow more than intercooled. Thought I might give them a try. Make some trades etc if I like them. Daniel says he can peg his 40psi boost gauge in 3rd with them. He sent them out today, I outta have them in next weekend.

So how much more power than POD's? What about some really hot injectors? Like the ones that bill and I both want? :-laf I see on PDR's web site that the DD Stage 5's are rated 175hp is there nothing out the like those for the VE?

Brenden, for something like this you would have to call a diesel shop, such as Scheids, DonM, II, anyone that custom builds injectors, and have them build you a custom set. They probly won't have any 1st gen injectors laying around let alone off the shelf, so you'll have to send your's in to be built. I'd suggest obtaining a stock set off someone that has replaced their 300k mile stockers with 190's or POD's. Then you'll have a set for cores to send off to the builder and not have your truck down.

and how in the heck is one supposed to "get ahold" of don???? i've been trying to locate a # for him for quite some time now. all i can ever find are his "distributor" #'s. and they are absolutely NO HELP AT ALL. at least not the ones i've called. can you recommend one, bill? i get the old, 93??? they had a diesel back then??? what would you want injectors for that thing for??? that's goonna cost ya!!!

ps. you don't have a couple extra cores laying around, do ya? i modified one to use as a compression tester. and i did something with another that i can't remember.

Swank I have a complete set at the house out of a 93' and I think they have about 160,000 miles on them when I pulled them out. PM me if you are needing a set. I let my old 93' go for a 97'; swapped it even for. :--)

Dave, I have no experience with Don. Awhile back I guess he built this set for Daniel Puckett. I am going to try them out. I'm pretty sure Don posts on DTR, you could start a thread or PM him there. I know KTA isn't too found of him LOL.



Unfortunately thats what we have to put up with/deal with when dealing with vendors on high performance or something above the norm for a 1st gen. Its sad, you basically have to know what you want, tell them the hole size, number, lift, spray pattern, pop etc. Since most of us don't know, and the vendor doesn't have alot of experience with our 1st gens, I don't know what to do. Stay stock I guess. . None of us want to spend $800 for a Lucas POD equivalent edm injector.



I never got a call back from Scheids on the edm's. Another example of vendors not taking us serious.

Dave on the cores, sorry, no extras, just sets. I've yet to find a rotary pumped 5. 9 CTD core in the junkayrd, only p-pumped cores :-laf .

I got a set of 90hp edms for my 93 through Haisley. They said scheid made them. I put them in and I think there a little more than 90hp i'd say there around 120hp. The smoke really bad. Hase about like POD's at idle. I have a PS62 and it wont clean the smoke up even at WOT. I paid $700 for them and this was the first set they've ever made for a VE pumped truck. I can hit 45psi (waste gate) and could proably do more but would like to keep my headgasket. I dont know really anything about the spec's on them. All I know is that they have 6holes and there really NASTY.

So how many PSI should I see on the stock turbo with PODs? Right now I'm seeing about 20 psi on the high side.

Josh, what did you ask for when you bought them? Ask for something more than POD's advertised +60hp? Did you have to send them your injectors to be built?

All I did was call and ask if they could make me a set of custom edm's for a 93. They asked me what I was going to do with the truck and how much HP I wanted. It took them about 2weeks, thery're used injector bodies and new tips. There is a core charge, and I still have to send mine in. You shouldnt need to send your injectors in but they might do it that way. They mentioned that the price would go up after my set, since I was the first to try a set.
