my fuel line behind the fuel filter finally started leaking. any one remember which issue had the steps to replacing it ?

I can't answer your question as to which issue, but I did just change mine on my 98 last week, a real PITA. Very tight working conditions.

Its not that hard if you remove the fuel filter. I have done them both ways but if you pull the fuel filter its pretty straight forward.

It was pretty hard to get to on my 95 when I changed it on the side of the road. I couldn't get all the way to the back connection, so I just got as far as convenient and had the entire lines replaced at the shop.



The tech had them both replaced in about 20 minutes. It would have taken me much longer, even if I could reach the back connection! He said he removed the vacuum booster and that made it much easier to reach.

fuel system

Had my plastic liners in the fender wells long gone, to show off my suspension, last week took a sawsall and cut out enough room to get to my diesel fuel return line, lift pump ,fuel heater. Going to put back the piece I cut out with welded plates and wing nuts and bolts!
