Engine/Transmission (1994 - 1998) 12 valve replacement parts

i need new valve cover gaskets for my 96 cummins. can anyone give me a phone number of where i can get them. i went to 2 local auto parts stores and they are trying to tell me that they do not carry them.

i just replaced mine and got a complete kit, if i remember right it was like 36 and some change, if your near michigan give erik cooley a call at diesel eguipment 1-888-769-8000 he had mine next day and hes great to deal with

I work in an auto parts store we carry Felpro and our catalouge shows almost nothing for our engines it all has to do with the companys product line . I have seen them on ebay . Valve cover gaskets may be one of the few things we can get I will check tonight and post a part number if they are available.

My local parts shop didn't have any gaskets listed for a 2nd gen 12 valve but did have them for a 1st gen (go figure). I ordered the 1st gen gaskets and they fit perfectly.

Look in the phone book under "truck repair" Look for a company that services Cummins and they typically carry anything you'd need for your 5. 9. My local shops have been able to sell me anything I needed or they can have it overnighted from the regional Cummins outlet. I've also called Cummins of Denver and they knew of a local outfit here that sends down a truck everynight for service and they hauled back parts for me.

Don't replace them with anything but the Fel-pro valve cover gaskets, they are great. I always buy thru www.rockauto.com they are fast and cheap. The valve cover gaskets run about 3. 75 each.

O'reilly's has them also for about the same price as y-knot said. I am not sure if O'reilly's is a national chain or not. The number for our local one is 1-800-440-4337. You might be able to call them to see if they have one in your area. -Nicholas

Just got back home the Felpro number is VS50505R they run 13. 48 each. I work at Advance they have to be ordered but can be in overnight . Anyone who carries Felpro should be able to get them. Hope this helps.

The part number I listed is 10. 99 at the rock I dont know what the difference is . The only thing I can figure is that the pc at work was wrong about the each and that is the set.
