I just got a new pump 215 pump and have it on the engine. Am trying to time it and can not do it through the window. I'm trying to get it set at 6mm of lift, or roughly 17*.
When barring the pump over, via a double-nut on the pump shaft, it keeps going past TDC very fast (once it reaches TDC it falls back off quickly). This is when going in a clockwise direction as seen from the front of the pickup. It doesn't do it when going counter-clockwise.
Once the pump stays at TDC, should I turn it clockwise or counter-clockwise using the pump shaft, as seen from the front of the engine, to set it at 6mm?
The engine itself is at TDC and is not being used to turn the pump.
Thanks, Lucas
