can you put a 12cm housing on a hx40 turbo

i would like to pick up my low end spool time again

also what do you guys think about the non wastgated housings

my truck is a 5 speed and i do a lot of stop and go in town driving



that and chp wont leave me alone #@$%!

HX40's like to go boom. Sell it and get an s300. You can get the 57mm version with a 12cm housing. It would flow just about as well as your HX40, but spool better. I put a HTBG with a 14 on my truck and I can tell zero difference between it and the stocker.

i need to find a housing for this turbo 14 would be ok for me just on a tight budget right now and thats all i can do is put a housing on it. the truck smokes bad iv got two chp smoke tickets and now i have to smog my truck cuz my old turbo popd i rilly need to find a housing bad.

the one thats on the turbo now is like a 18cm its a stock turbo for a 8. 3 i got it cheep but now im paying for it

Give PDR, Peak Diesel Performance (Piers Harry's new company), HTT or City Diesel a call. I know they have done quite a bit of work with HX35/40 hybrids.



Probably going to be prone to surge and / or barking. My Dodgezilla did that allot running as a single and it has a 14 cm2 turbine housing.



I believe that Plain Jane s300g's go pretty in-expensively, but probably more than you want to get into at the moment.

I believe in order to put a 12 or 14 cm housing you would need to machine out a hx35 housing. I put a 14cm housing on my PDR hx40 and that is what piers did took a hx35/14 housing and hogged out the middle to make it fit the hx40 seemed to work well but than I was back to using a hx35 down pipe and cast elbow………If you are interested I still have the PDR 16cm housing that should bolt right up to your hx40
