Friends,

I know there are several reports here on the TDR where folks are having problems with their 12.0Navs. Biggest problem with my wifes was everytime we tried to search an address, we would get a working offline msg. Well, now the search feature is working.

Last week, I was waiting outside grocery store in my wife truck when I got the download available. I accepted it and followed instructions to not start or turn on accessory switch. Took about 30 minutes. Wife wasn't happy having to bring groceries out to the south 40 and sit in the truck waiting for download to complete.

I messed up on downloading in my 2017 Ram 5500 last year exact same scenario except I interrupted to get my wife. The download would not restart, so eventually, I went online and downloaded to my laptop and a thumb drive. This is the update the FCA sent out the throw away usb update on

Didnt think to provide updates version, so will go out to truck, bring it up on the screen, take a pic, and post it.

Cheers, Ron

It has improved a bit. Where mine would spontaneously change radio sources frequently, it will now momentarily play the wrong source on startup, then go to the correct source. It has still spontaneously selected the front camera and locked up since then, though, so still needs improvement.

It's odd how everyone has different issues with the 12". You'd think it we'd all be experiencing the same issues but that's not the case. Mine has been fine except for once in a blue moon when you start the truck it will play 2 sources at once... Like playing something from my connected (usb cable) iPhone AND a sports channel from SirusXM simultaneously. It has not done it since the OTA update but other than that I love it. The one thing I did when I took delivery of the new truck was I put a screen protector on it.... I got the matte finish one so there is no reflections, fingerprints or glare.

I know most hate the glossy screen but that was FCA's way of giving higher contrast level such as we saw with the first LCD tv's. I like the idea of the matte screen protector.

I bought one of the glass glossy type of screen protectors at first and it drove me nuts.. Smudges and streaks and too reflective. I put it on the moment I pulled off the plastic factory shipping cover. The matte one takes a moment to get used to as you might think it makes everything look blurry... But my eyes are on the road 99.9% of the time. Mine came in a 2 pack and I can't really see wearing out one of them unless you tried wiping it off with sandpaper. Putting it on takes a few tries to get it right but once you get it, it looks good. Peels off as easy as easy as it went on... It's not permanent in any means.
