In the course of replacing my head gasket, I found that I have a crack in one exhaust seat. The head is in the shop now. I will have a seat put in it, and hope the crack will be machined out.

The pessimist that I am, I will shop for a replacement head. I am open for suggestions.

I might mention, if you do not buy a complete head gasket set, check for availability of valve seals. Also check for availability of the marine head gasket, especially if you are going plus . 020. I had to special order both.

I also discovered leaks in my radiator, small but leaks. I have been reading about $500 to $700. I found several sources for about $300. I paid $285 plus California tax.

best head for the price is Industrial diesel and they sell for around $750 complete with valves and springs, these are new heads, they also have marine heads with hardened seats. If your head is cracked do not put it back on. The best price for radiators is 1 800 radiator. They are in Sacramento , Ca. Industrial diesel is in Texas. The heads for industrial diesel are good heads but they need to be ported more than a stock one because of the thicker material.

Reb. B - Thanks for the response. I bought my radiator from 1 800 radiator.

Do you have a number for Industrial diesel?

bmoeller - Thanks. It looks like the place, compaired to what I have seen, priced pretty reasonable.

Does anyone know anything about Industrial Diesel? Bought from them, etc. ?
