I am trying to replace my injectors on my 97. I cannot get 2 of the injectors to seat down into the bore. The second one from the front will not go in and the second one from the back will not go in. I have tried multiple injectors including the factory injectors and none of them will seat. I have tried to lube the injectors and it didn't work. I need some help. I am all out of ideas. Thanks for any help

Did you clean the bore. If not get a good quality brush and clean out the bore.

Yes this is very important. Scotch brite pad wrapped around a long narrow screwdriver works well too. Also do not re use any of the copper injector washers, you must used new washers each time you torque the injectors down. 44ft lbs.

the bore looks clean. I ran a magnet down there first. Then I used a piece of cloth on a screwdriver. I even used a light wire brush to try to clean where the ball on the injector seats. Nothing. I will try the scothbrite pad to see if I can "hone" the bore a little with that. I have new washers on all of the injectors. Someone has had to had this problem before? The other 4 seated very easily after these steps were taken. And these two will not. Even the very back one was easily installed. Thanks

Might sound sacreligious, but I had to put one of the lugnuts off of the tire onto the top of the injector and tap it down with a mallett to seat a few of mine. I put some antisieze on the washer to stick it to the body of the injector to make sure it didnt fall off. Make sure if you do this the locating ball is lined up with the groove though. No problems after My install using this method.

did you line up the detent ball? I know that I forgotto on the last injector I installed and it wouldn't seat until I took it back out and put the ball in the groove
