Hi,

I searched and found one person who said that they had used a block off plate for the stock lift pump location when they went to a aftermarket lift pump/filter system. He didn't say where he got it in the post.

Does anyone know where I can find one of these, or is this something you have to make? These engines are used in so many applications, not all of them must use a lift pump arrangement like we have in our trucks.

Thanks for any help that can be offered.

Big Block Chevy fuel pump plate works great. Just use the stock liftpump Cummins gasket.

This is what I used and hundreds of other guys who went to an elctric pump.

I just made my own out of a peice of sheetmetal. I used the gasket as a template and cut it out and used the gasket to seal it seems to work well as I dont have any leaks.

Although Cummins does sell one you are cheaper to go to any speed shop and get one. They fit Chev and Dodge big and small blocks. The Cummins gasket is a good heavy duty one with "notched " bolt holes so the bolt threads in, and the gasket doesn't fall off. Cummins p/n for the gasket is 3939258. Shadrach

I used a block-off plate for mine, but I made it out of 1/4" plate, using the gasket for a template.

You can't see the thing, so appearance doesn't matter; just be sure it seals to the block.

I'm just posting this for future community reference, in case someone wants to order the parts first, I used Trans Dapt fuel pump plate #2058. Fits the 2nd gen 24 valve blocks too.

I have aftermarket filters on my truck ,but still have stock pump I'd like to do away with the fuel heater. Do I need a spacer to keep the stroke the same on the lift pump or does the cam travel not matter?
