Ok, I've removed the alternator, and now would like to know how, without a suitable application of high explosives, access is gained to the lower radiator hose clamp against the radiator. Or better, how much more do I need to disassemble to get there. . There seesm to be interference between air conditioning lines and the inlet for the intercooler... Radiator overflow tank is also removed. At least it's not mid-February...

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Would a pair of right angle needle nose pliers work? I had the fan shroud off when I disconnected mine, to replace the radiator.

Thx

Thanks for the idea. Back outside with the right angle needle nose. I had been trying to get at it with the Geno's locking hose pliers. .

i use a pair of aligator pliers and open them up all they way, it clamps down just enough to slide the hose clamp off, they make a sepical tool, that is actually used just to take that clamp off, imo, you can do just as well with the pliers, for less $$ too.

Most of the time the clamps need replacing anyway, so just cut it off with a dremel and tiny cut-off wheel. If you aren't replacing the hose just be careful not to cut into the hose too much.

Done

Thanks to all. I should have just dremel'd it off, as it is the first tme since new (Cec'97) it has been replaced, but I finally broke down and used the secret MoPar special tool... the 2" C-clamp. Thermostat, water pump and new hoses, what could be next ???
