I'm researching some fuel system mods for my early - '98 Quadcab (12V - P7100 IP, totally stock)... I got a few questions.

I'm at work and don't have time to search.

1) - What is the the micron rating of the stock, "standard" cartridge-style fuel filter?

2) - What is the Cummins spec limit for maximum water content in the fuel?

3) - I recall seeing somewhere that the P7100 IP is "very sensitive to inlet fuel pressure from the lift pump. " What is the stock LP fuel pressure spec (at the IP inlet)?

I've only owned the truck for two weeks, and don't have any manuals yet. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

TIA,

Ted

I believe the fuel pressure going into the P7100 is about 16-20psi at idle and I want to say around 30psi in the RPMs but I can't be certain.

I beleive JGHeen is right, the stock lift pump pushes from 20-35PSI.

Im running my fass straight to the P7100 @ 20PSI. By next season Ill be running 50Psi.

My P7100 ran fine down to as low as 6 PSI when my overflow valve failed. I installed a new overflow valve from TST. It now idles at about 32 PSI. Running on the road usually has my 40 PSI gauge pegged. The lift pump is the original. 243K miles on it.
