What's everyone doing when their PCM#@$%! gives up the ghost? Rockauto has them, but they say it "needs local reprograming".

12 valve pcm's are plug and play. Auto and manual are different also.

I asked a member to try his out and in his generosity he gave it to me. There are a lot of refurbishment places on the net. You need one for your type of trans and your model year. I wish I had bookmarked the site that explained about the numbers on the PCM.

Went to order one at rock auto and I received the dreaded "we don't actually have that part" message. Now all the PCM's for my 97 are gone. I guess this will require another analogue phone call.

I went through this about 5 years ago. Plenty of web sites list them but NONE actually have one. Ended up going thru the local Dodge dealer who had one for me inside of a week.

May I asked what you paid going that route?

Couple of years ago I bought one off a Comp D member for $100. Said it was used little and looked like it was new. Tried it on my truck and worked fine and now rides in my tool box.

It was about $470 with tax and after the returned core. That was back in 2007 and for a '95 auto.
