Putting my 12V back on the road from storage since November.

Thought I'd put the stock plate back on. After installing the plate I find that the governor lever doesn't come close to the plate.

Do I need to take the back cover off and push or adjust the lever till it touches?

I'm talkin' about 1/2 inch here.

Thanks in advance.

So, if I get this right, I have the AFC housing and FSO Solenoid off.
Pull the FSO linkage up (FSO on) and make like I'm stepping on the pedal. The lever should then contact the lowest part of the plate. If not, then small adjustments until that happens.

Thanks.

The “rocker” won't rise to the level of the torque plate until the engine is running. It is connected to the governor which needs to be spinning.
