I'm a little behind the curve when it comes to how the auto in a 12v truck works. Question... If the computer (pcm)were to completely give up the ghost, is there a way to get the transmission to shift. For instance, in my 5spd if the pcm or any other computer controlled gadget quits, in a pinch I know how to get it to start, run, and charge. I have read where a switch has been installed to control the torque converter. What am I missing if anything?

Thanks

You mite be able to shift manually but not sure.

Switch for TQ is known as mystery switch or lockup switch it used with exhaust brakes to keep the TQ clutch in locked position in 3rd and 2nd gear.

The owner(you) has to install or have the switch installed ( not at a Dodge dealer).

The 94 trans is different from a 97, RH to RE. An RH will shift fine and just loose OD and lockup. An RE wont shift, will stay in drive, and looses OD\LU. Should be able to manually shift gears and would need 2 switches to engage OD\LU.
