Snow today but will take a look at my '18 next week and see what's under there.

Is this called out on the window sticker? Or is ot one of those have to know kind of deals.

Battery is dead in my '18 tried to start it yesterday before the snow.

It's a gasser so maybe it's not used on those either.

I'm not sure my 3500 and 2500 combined would see the type of work you put your 2500 through, it's pretty impressive what you get done with that rig.

Doesn't seem to be much interest here on this mod, however, if the 3500 guys (at least the '19+) were, my guess is the axle housing has the boss casting also. The frame crossmember mount...maybe. Anyone look at their axles/frame?

I have seen a lot of 3500 axles and never seen the mount, or the coil spring mounts, or 2500 shock mounts..... totally different axles.

When I looked at my axle earlier today I thought I had seen thou mounts so I just went back out and looked. 2 of the 4 castings are there, and they are not machined so it certainly wouldn’t take the mount. No clue what the castings are there for on a 3500 axle.

I’m honestly surprised the pumpkin castings are different. They all use the same size pumpkin, despite two different ring gear sizes. It seems to me that it would be the cheapest and easiest to have one axle that either gets 2500 spring/shock mounts or 3500 spring/shock mounts, not two different pumpkins especially when all 2500’s only get the 11.5” axle and don’t need the larger housing.

Copied this off Mopar parts for a 3500. Maybe the picture is somewhat generic tho. The bottom two seem to have the castings but not the top two. The bottom appear to be for a dually, note the hubs.

Looking back the last few I looked at where Duallys so maybe the SRW have a different center, thought its Ram so every day of the week probably has a different variation...

Update:

I can't tell any difference

:)

Maybe I just have not encountered a condition when it helps. Such as deep snow or soft sand. I think it has to help some but is very suttle. The truck has always performed well loaded or empty, seems to plant the tires on the ground really well. Pulling up out of the cinder pit is steep, with loose rock and rough. I use 4x4 for less tire spin.

Last week I asked for 6 yds and the new operator gave me 8, that's 31k gcw, it pulled about same on the grade.

Since it is such an easy bolt on mod, looks well built and reasonably priced, I am content with it.
