Is anybody upgrading to 14mm mains like they are on head studs? Something of interest..... i received a '96 engine today from a big ford, F-700 i believe, and it had 14mm mains vs. 12mm like in our trucks. Anybody else aware of this? The block has to have more reinforcement also, a better block for sure for a high h. p buildup.

mummn. . sounds cool. . i'll have to look into that i have a marine older 6bt in my garage i'll have to measure my bolts. . also if you read the new feb issue of national fisherman they have adiesel special or that month etc. . in it they mention the new commonrail 5. 9L (same as 3rd gen 24v) any how its a qs seris engine it runs two piece articulated steel top pistons. . and teh 24v common rail engine uses the same piston as the older 24v. . so swapping to these new two pieces steel crown pistons would be the slick tip or racers and pullers also. . more egts..... i haven't seen any one else mention that here yet either. .

thanks
