Anyone aware of of aftermarket sorce for ther 140 amp fusable link for the alternator? NAPA, No, Schucks, NO, Auto Zone, No... . all those folks say dealer item?????

If it came off your truck, I would try Cummins, or any other big rig shop before the stea... dealer.

Did you find the cause of the link going out?

140amp

Been there done that when installing a new ATS. Ya it's a dealer only item, but to get it by for now you can install a 100 amp and it will work. At least this is what I did and drove it that way for 3 days. That fuse is only 6. 50 dollars don't let them try to tell it's 20. 00.

Thanks all! Ended up at the dealer, link ended up being $7. 00.

Yep did find the problem sticks. Alternator wire rubing on the shock upper mounting spline. Alternator wire leaves the wire bundle at about that point to enter the fusable link box in the engine compartment. Ended up repairing the wire and zip tieing to the inner fender. Guess what problem this fixed as well? The infamous transmission hunting problem between 45 & 55. looks like it had been arching for a long time from the looks of the shock spline.
