14CM non-Gated Turbo Housing

Received my 14 CM non-gated housing last week from Piers.

Finally found the time to install it today. What a difference.

No lag at all, instant power. Install was fairly straight forward

except for the exhaust side on the turbo housing. It extends

about an 1 and 1/2 inches further than the stock unit . Managed

to massage the exhaust back on with some Gorrilla bars. Still

enough clearance on the firewall but, will add some aluminzed

insulation nonethess later on. I decided not to crank up the

power as I will add some Lucas Injectors in a few weeks.

Boost is running a few pounds higher at cruise, 55-60 was

normally about 1 In. and now it is 3-4 inches boost. Smoke

does not appear to be worse unless I get on it, will work on that

later as well. While on the intake added an AFE filter and

drilled and tapped the exhaust for the pyro. EGT runs about

500-600 at cruise.

Do us all a favor here if you would... .

Keep written record of your temps, RPM's, outside temps, mileage, etc. and keep that going as you do each and every mod.

The reason I mention it is because we can/will all benefit from your alterations/results/effects as you go.

Most of us have kept some kind of track but very few have do so right from the start.

I assume you removed the stock 18cm housing to put the 14 on, right?

Anyway, try to keep track of every thing, especially if you're going to end up with POD's, pump tweaks etc.

I know its alot of work, I've been doing it faithfully for a while now but it will help.



BTW, congrats on the start of 'coming to the dark side'...

and don't forget to post a pic or two on the 'readers rigs' section too.
