Thanks, TDR Staff
I honestly can’t remember when I installed my Westach 15 psi fuel pressure gauge, A pillar mounted, but got it from Geno’s Garage with the wiring, sending unit and snubber, pre 2010.

Over a year ago I ran into the gauge fluctuating wildly and suspected by FASS direct replacement pump was pooping out so got a new one. Turns out I needed new batteries, so after all that pressure was good, or so it seemed except…the gauge would drop to zero after starting up! It would pop back up again but would drop to zero again while driving, not a good feeling!

Long story short the wire attachments to the sender didn’t look good, and I noticed breaks in the wire insulation here and there, 18 ga. I contacted Westach, asked if the senders went bad and could cause this. They said it could, but of course they can’t get replacement senders. Said “You will have to look around for a 0-16 psi sender that is 240-34 ohms.”

Anyone here know if that’s even possible? I’d also have to rebuild the wiring. I don’t have the time and inclination like I used to.

Alternative is to buy a whole new gauge with sender etc. Any recommendations without spending a fortune?

I had used Westach fuel pressure gauge for quite a few years. I had to replace three senders and one gauge. Of course I had to pay full price each time. This year just for fun I replaced it with a GlowShift gauge from Amazon for about half the price. Nine months and it is still is working. Time will tell.

Thanks for that input. I’ve gotten nowhere finding a replacement sender and saw the GlowShift option, more attractive price point. I’ve seen some dissing of these but I’m not up for spend the $200+ on the Isspro or Autometer electrics Geno’s has these days and I don’t want to go mechanical. My truck gets very light use.

How did you mount yours?

My Glowshift's work just fine after the praised VDO's failed me.
I recommend the A-pillar mount from Glowshift, easy install as the gauge is only pushed in, no bolts needed from the backside.
