I've been looking to upgrade my manual seat to electric. I found what's supposed to be a very good leather seat from a 2000 Dodge 1500 Quad Cab. It will fit in my 2001 3500 Quad Cab won't it?

It's supposed to be both sides electric & heated. I'm thinking I can splice into the drivers side on my truck to run the passenger side. I'm thinking it should work as long as both seats aren't adjusted or heated at the same time?

I see my wife becoming happy!!!!

Advice on the fit or wiring will be greatly appreciated. I should have the wires already in the truck to wire the drivers side shouldn't I?

Thanks for any help or advice.

I would think that it would bolt right in. An extended cab and quad cab are different, but what you are doing should be easy. Before you start splicing, I would dig and see if the wires are there for the passenger seat. The wiring for all the options that were available for that year, should be there.

It's the same cab. It will fit, but I wouldn't control the drivers and passenger seats with the same switches. Keep them separate.

picked up the seat(s) today, got both the front & rear since they are leather for $600. 00,they are Agate which is the right color, in good shape and have the ram heads in the upper seat, came out of a 2001 1500 and I am very pleased and excited.

anyway, my wife is going to be so very happy. both sides are electric, heated with power lumbar

all they gave me is the cut pig tail with 10 wires going in that ultimately run both sides of the seats, I was hoping to get the whole harness but the donor truck had already been crushed!!

all I have under my manual seat is 3 wires and a much smaller plug so I guess I'll go to Dodge and see if there is a harness that will plug under the dash from the seat, if not I guess I'll be looking at a Geno's painless wiring kit and wiring it myself

does anyone have the wiring schematic for the dual power/heated/lumbar seats by chance? I'm assuming probably 9 of the 10 wires are hot with one ground? do you think I have to lower the power going to the seat if I can't find a harness? I sure don't want to burn anything up! I have no idea about wiring anything other than farm trailers but I can alway get the lights to work!

I'll keep everyone posted in a week after I get whatever I need, going to install my satellite radio I got for my birthday when I have everything torn out
