$16.00 starter contact rebuilds here

I found an old timer that tinkers part time out of his auto electic shop. he sold me the two contacts and plunger for $16. 00 to rebuild our starters with.



PM or email me if any of you guys need these parts. i will obtain them and mail them to you for the cost of the mailing. it couldnt be more than 2 or 3 bucks.



i take no profit from this, just the joy of helping out a fellow TDR member.

OK guys, here is the plan.



just yesterday, i got 7 orders. LOL



so to make things a little easier. here is what i am doing. send me $20 for each kit you need, to the address below. when i recieve your money i will determine the shipping back to you, go get the parts, box them up and send them to you. whatever change is left over usually a $1 or so, i will put in the box with the parts.



some of you are asking for just the two contacts, i will find out what he needs for just the contacts and post them here for you. i think its around $2. 50 but I'll find out. and we can agree on what to send me for just the contacts.



i am not taking any profit from this, just trying to help out. i know the rest of you would do the same as well

we caused a back order

the place he is getting parts from has them on backorder now



he told me today (tuesday) they wont have any more until the second week of May. for those of you that are sending me checks. I have one set left and two checks in my hand right now. they are first come first serve. I guess they are not a Volume Dealer 11 sets, in two days, broke the bank Oo.



hang in there, I will fill the orders ASAP when i get the parts.



BTW: the contacts are $3. 60pr. for those of you that just wanted those.

Thanks for this Todd, yer the best! When my starter contacts went out, I just pounded a piece of copper into the right shape and put it in. It has been fine for 6 months (knock on wood, eh?). I would like to get a spare set from you when ya git some more. Let us know when you get more; it looks like you'll need a lot!

OK, here is what has been going on. the last few days i got to thinking the old guy was yanking my chain a bit, about the back order. i just sensed he wasnt being honest when he told me they were backordered. he mistakenly told me a few places he orders from during one of our conversations. Sooo



I called the closet place to me last night and they had them in stock. at first they wanted $4 or so for the contacts and $30 for the plunger, this was over the phone. i went over there after work last night and picked out the nicest guy from the counter. i told him what i needed and what i WAS paying $15. 20 per set. he said no problem we will match it. i walked out of there with all they had on their shelf, 5 sets of plungers and contacts



i have three sets left and the good news is we can get just the contacts in bags of ten. the contacts are $2. 25 each (4. 50 pair) please include a dollar or so to pay for shipping if you just want contacts. or if you are ordering a plunger and just want a few extra contacts just send me 4. 50 a pair for each of set of extra contacts.
