I want to put a set of 16. 5" humvee wheels and tires on my 06 mega. I tried it out without spacers last year, but they hit the calipers. I would like to try it again with some 2. 5" spacers. Can I grind the calipers to make it fit, I have done that on chevy D60 fronts for a rock crawler to fit 15" wheels before with no problems, but this is my tow truck. The other thing I was thinking was to find some low profile calipers. Do they exist? The price of the wheel and tires is just so good, I would like to take advantage of it.

Take a look at the factory 17's. They barely clear the calipers, as heavy as these trucks are I strongly suggest you go with a proper wheel size as opposed to sacrificing safety with ground calipers. Good deal on the tires? Maybe but nobody's safety is worth it.

You don't want to run the military humvee wheel there Junk that's why they have gone from a 8 bolt all the way to a 24 bolt ring

Using spacers any time is not a good idea but using them on front wheels is a very bad idea. Spacers on front wheels will alter front end and suspension geometry and probably cause steering, braking, and handling issues.
