16" wheels

Anyone switch over to 16" rims to have more choices in tires? I have thought about the 315's but I am worried that that big of a tire will really reduce my power and milage. So I looked into 16" wheels and maybe go with 305's or 295's? What can ya' all tell about your experience with any of these set-ups? Thanks. By the way LUVIN my 05!!!!

sdriv... my understanding is that we have 17" for brake clearances. Would like to see a 16 that fits... . lots more tire option. George

Yup, don't forget, the rotors are now 14 inches in diameter, front and rear. A 16-inch wheel won't leave enough room.

Hmm! See that's why I always come here first. I didn't realize that about the 16" Thanks. So then any input into how much the 315's will hurt the power and gas milage?

Bolt pattern is the same, but choices for 16. 5 are starting to disappear since there is no safety bead and people are going to 18 and 20 inch wheels.

17" is the minimum size to clear the brake calipers. I have heard of guys that fit 16. 5's but they had to grind the brake caliper.

i've heard over on the DTR that some guys have had to grind the calipers to fit an aftermarket 17" wheel... so the clearences are tight...
