Here I am

Competition 167 mph/28 sec/One Mile

Attention: TDR Forum Junkies
To the point: Click this link and check out the Front Page News story(ies) where we are tracking the introduction of the 2025 Ram HD trucks.

Thanks, TDR Staff

Competition A Big Thanks to Piers

Competition twins and boost gauges????

I had posted this on the "Other" forum but think it will be more appreciated here even though it's not a diesel.

Dr. Bolles does all his own development and work. End result (this year) is not too shabbly for a street legal 4000 lb car. IMO, the best part is the sound. Looks like he's perfected shifting that 5 spd to an art form.

BTW, the old Ford gasser tow truck is a sleeper - 120 mph plus.

talk about a tach that isn't enough :) prolly has a very pucky clutch in there, he really had to slip that thing off the line

I asked him what RPM he shifts at - 7000 and, yes, he did have to "modulate" the throttle and clutch a bit as the car is capable of breaking the rear end loose anytime, anywhere, any gear.

Also, no clutch involved in those shifts. Takes too much time.

Dog toothed gear box. I'll bite.

Should put better wider rubber for his next run.

That looks like fun! Maybe I'll get the chance to do that next year. Currently, we are slated to run the Silver State Classic Challenges' Baer Brakes sponsored "Z-2-Z Challenge" , which is a 0-200-0 event in May.

Baer Brakes issued the challenge last year, but their "Big Red" Camaro (remember the infamous RJ Gottlieb Camaro that ran 200 back in 1989?) only mustered 179mph in the first mile of the event. Remember though, this is held outside of Ely, NV, where the altitude is 6300' above sea level! At the same event, Jerry Mall (owner of K&N Filters) managed 181mph at the mile in his supercharged Viper.

We are also going to run their standing 1/2 mile and standing 1 mile events as well, the same weekend. I think we'll be bringing a lot more to the table than anyone else. The Underground Racing West Twin Turbo'd Viper I'll be driving makes boo-coo HP. The sister car to the URW Viper has run 8. 90's @ 173mph in the 1/4, first time out, right off the trailer, with a 6-speed trans (not an auto).

I CAN'T WAIT! Oo.

Nah, that thing ain't meant for going a mile. LOL

I'll be running a Dodge, but not a Ram. :) And this time it's not for Edge/DD.

No, but I have seen that name thrown around on viperalley.com. There are several companies marketing twin turbo kits for vipers now though. RSI, SVS, Underground, etc.

Well, another 6-speed Underground racing TT Viper broke the current record again last night. Now, 8. 55 @ 174+mph is the 6-speed Viper record. This car is setup identically to the car I will take to the top speed events. :D

5. 88 in the 1/8! amazing ... what rear is in those? dana 44?

makes the dana 60 in my 12 sec '70 road seem like overkill ...

you gotta love the sparks flying out from underneath on the 1-2 shift

"when this baby hits 88 you're gonna see some amazing ... Oo. "
