Archived 1693 code help

Today i started my truck and it idled for a couple mins then it reved up two times almost like a popping sound then idled fine after that,then i drove it down the street and it kinda shuttered a bit like it was getting air the check engine light is on and its throwing a1693 code

if you dont have gauges you need to get some. make it easier to find out what is wrong. first, turn the key on and bump the starter dont start the engine. listen for the lift pump running. this does not gurantee its pumping fuel. if you hear it running for about 25 sec. open the fuel drain on the filter you should get a gush of fuel if the pump is working. you didnt say what year your truck is . if it is 98. 5 or 99. you need a code reader . if its 2000 or later turn key on off three times without starting the engine. codes appear in spedo window. 1693 is a companion code generally set with other codes. hope this is of some help.
