could i lower the truck by putting 16x8 rims and tire. 235-60-16. the dia is27. 10 that should lower the truck by 1. 7 inches? can the dealer change the speedo to a smaller size? the stock dia. is30. 5 . kp
I could be wrong but I've heard that a 16 inch rim won't fit on a 3rd gen because the brake disc is too big. Depending on your year truck, the dealer may or may not be able to adjust your speedo. Fill out your signature so we can see what you got.
Couldn't you use your stock wheels and go down in tire size? I know there are 27 " tires out there for 17 in rims. I have a 2nd gen, so not sure about the rotor size on a 3rd though.
Watch your load ratings. These things are really heavy on the front end, even empty. Going smaller, even with an E-rated tire (if you can find it), you're giving up load capacity.
they put 245/70-17 E on the st trucks. They are a little shorter but they put them on the 7. 5" width st painted wheel. The chrome and alloy wheels are 8" and use the 265.
