I just put on a set of 16X8 MT/Alcoa Classics and 285 tires. While they look great, they stick out of the fender some, so I think it would look better with fender flares. I've always like the Xenon flares the best. For those of you running this combo, will these flares cover the wheel, or will the wheels still stick out some. I'm mainly interested in covering the extra wheel I added without making it look "over-flared". Also, it's a given I will need mud flaps too, so any suggestions? Thanks.

Paul,

I've been studying the flare options out there. I too, like the Xenon flares, especially the way they attach. However, from what I can tell, they turn in at the bottom, totally defeating the purpose of keeping debris coming off the tires from damaging the paint on the sides of the truck.

The Bushwacker Extend-A-Fender come straight down more at the bottom and therefore give more protection. I think these are the ones I'm going to order. The only drawback I see with Bushwackers is their mounting method allows dust to get between the flare and the fender, sometimes leaving a slight scratch line on the fender. Some report this as being more significant than others.

Tell us what you get and post pictures.
