Has anyone come out yet with 17", 3400# per tire yet. I have the Michlens at 3195# ea. and would like to get higher load rated tires.

Thanx, Gambler Oo. :p

#3400 Tires

I have looked into this as I was replacing my Michelins. I have a #3500 camper so weight rating is important to me. My first choice was Toyo M/T in 35x70x17. They didn't have a weight rating on their site so I called. It is like #3460. Next was try to find out where to get. They weren't available and wouldn't be until late March. That wasn't going to work for me although I would still like to go with them. I did find the Nitto Terra Grappler in 295x70x17 has a weight rating of #3415. I was a bit leary as they are load range D, but I went ahead figuring I could sell them at a little loss and get the Toyos later. So far the Nittos have been great. No problem with the camper on. I paid about $800 for the set versus $1200 for the Toyos.

Just a question?? I did not think the tire stores would would put a "D" range tire on a 3500. I thought it had to be an "E" or that only on a Dually??

If you got that information from Johnson tire service, go to any other tire dealer and they will hook you up with what ever you want. JTS has a rule book a foot thick that I think is overkill.

No offense, but you are probably better off with load range E's at 3195# than load range D at 3400 #. Why would you want such large tires with a camper anyway... You have an extra 400# total, but also have a max pressure of what, 60 PSI?
