Looking for ATV recomendations!

any hams out there? (amateur radio ops)

I looking to get a rifle in the . 17 HMR. I would like to know who makes a rifle for this caliber. I just like the range they have over a 22 long or mag. I already have a long range gun. Just want something for closer shots without the noise. Thanks

ruger makes one for sure. . think its a model 17/77 or 71/17 or something like that. .

do a search on . 17 hmr and i'm sure you'll turn some up. .

Look at ammo cost first

I think ammo is running about 10. 00/box for that stuff. Dont quote me, I just seem to recall something to that effect. That's a lot for such a little non-reloadable caliber in my book.

Marlin and Ruger make rifles so far with others soon to follow. The cost of ammo will come down soon also, as all the companies will produce the . 17.

I'm looking at two Marlins. One is $165. 00(model 17V), the other is $240. 00(model 17VS). This is dealer price, they usually sell for +15% over their cost.

Taurus is making some wheel guns in 6 or 7 shot for between $270. 00-$310. 00 (dealer).

Dealer on the Hornaday ammo is almost $8. 00, so if youre getting it for $10. 00, it's more than a fair price IMO. That IS a 50 round box after all.

Everythig is + freight too, so take that into consideration.
