$175.00 for a Fuel Shuto-off Solenoid????

Gimmee a break. Can this be a true price? Was quoted that from Cummins NW. I saw a post that it was 88 bucks from cummins.



If someone can point me in the right direction, I'd sure appreciate it.

I will check today. Bought one three or four years ago for 72 dollars at the Bosch repair shop. I think you are being held up. I will find out a current price.

EDIT By the way, you can take the plunger out of the body and the truck will run. you will have to use the manual cut off lever (raise the hood etc, very inconvienent) but you are not dead on the rail as to using the truck. You could run a pull cable to the inside. You will have to custom bend a wrench to get the solonoid body out. The bracket on the back of the pump is in the way and you can remove it permanently or bend it down to get to the solonoid. I bent mine with a large adjustable. You will have to purge the fuel system before the engine will run as you let air into the pump when changing the solonoid.

I was planning on buying one and rebuilding the one on the engine and keeping one as a spare since they appear to be a weak spot.



I'll dig into the pump system after dinner and hopefully get it working again. I hate having it broke but its giving me time to work on a couple other things while I'm into the engine area.

solonoid price

Shiver diesel does our pump work. They are Bosch certified pump specialist. They can furnish you a new solonoid and ship it any where in the USA for under a hundred dollars. I won't specify what we pay as we do a considerable volume of work with them but Jerry will probably quote under 85 dollars and the shipping to wherever you live. To my knowlege, they are not rebuildable as to the windings.
