Just had my 5th oil change done. My oil used to get very black w/in about 500 miles of having it changed before. I've got about 1500 miles on this oil and it looks great on the dip stick, way less soot. Mileage went up 3 MPG as well!

My truck has 102k miles and was still clean between oil changes. :) Thats great for your truck too. Black oil means too much unburned fuel. Hope it stays that clean for a long time. :)

Sorry I have to disagree with you about "Black" oil. I have seen Diesel Engines have an oil change, and in less than 20 minutes of running it was COAL Black! The color of oil doesn't really tell you much!

My 305/555 was clean until the day it got changed. My 325/600 is Black as tar. I just hit 2500 miles and getting ready to schedule a change at the dealer next week before the 3000 mile mark.

I still LOVE THIS TRUCK! Oo.

That's great! What happened?

Are you sure it's a good thing?

I remember from back in the day, when my dad sold industrial oils, he always said that you actually wanted black oil because that meant that the oil was taking the garbage out of the engine (not exactly his words, but you get the point). Clean oil would mean that the dirt is sitting somewhere else.

Just my take - whatever it's worth.
