180 degree transmission temp????

Is this normal for a 20 min. drive on the Fwy, then 10 min. in city traffic? Here in Phoenix it was 105 today. Does that affect the temps? When I tow I only see 220 or so going up a grade. My probe is in the rear facing test port. Does this make a difference?

That doesn't sound too far off in that kind of hot weather if stop and go is involved. Here in 80-90 degree weather on the freeway I get around 170 degrees and stop and go brings it up to around 175. I have an X-Monitor and it takes the temperature right off of the transmission thermistor that's inside of the transmission.
