Have any of you found a 19. 5" steel wheel that will handle more than 3500 lbs other than the rickerson wheel... . I'm sorry guys, but I want some work wheels and the other trailer wheels and truck wheels that I buy in 19. 5" are in the $160 range... these wheels at 240 just seem a little high to me...

It is my understanding some folks have had success having Accurides machined to fit the hubcentric CTDs. Or plundering old GM bread wagons... ... argh, matie

I've talked to one of the engineers at Accuride. . the wheels they make with the right bolt pattern are for GMC bread trucks and UPS trucks... load limit of 2500 lbs per wheel... . that wheel is actually below the rating of the 17" wheels we now have... I'm looking to move up in safety factor for the truck and the trailer that uses 16" wheels... and your right they need the hub center changed... .

Jim,

Have you contacted Brentz wheels? They sell inner steel wheels for use with their 19. 5" aluminum wheels. Might be worth calling them. Only other thing I have found is the inner steel wheels offered as part of the American force dually wheels. I found www.4wheelonline.com that offers these wheels, but they are just as much as the Rickson's. So that's no help to you.

I deal with a lot of truck wheels too, and near as I can figure is that until Accuride or Hayes starts producing these in high volume the price is gonna stay high.

Let us know if you find a workable, and better priced set up.

The engineer from Accuride said the stock wheels come from a factory in Brazil... but I can't find them on the internet... . was hoping they had a dist here in the US with other options. . but if no one on this board knows about it... it must not be...

Thanks guys

My brother has a wheel guy in L. A. that can make anything , he uses your old centers , I will find out more and post tonite.

I to have been looking and all of the people that sell these wheels tell me that the steel wheel is only 20. 00 less so I may as well just buy the custom set. .

If I remember correctly, the inner steels Brentz uses are made by Rickson's.

yup. when i bought my rims from Brent he and i talked about this a bit.

i am very happy with my Brentz wheels, but they are AL, not steele. after lifting an aluminum wheel i would hate to have to lift a steel wheel... .
