These are Vision Aluminum wheels I purchased from Les Schwab, a large tire dealer here in the PNW. I'm very happy with them and are a less expensive rim than Rickson's.

We don't have Les Schwab dealers around here so I went to Vision's at www.visionwheel.com and see they are in CA and Decatur, Ala. I Sent them an email to ask if the 19. 5" were available for Duallies. Will keep posted.

:D

I am also waiting to find out more info from http://www.budnik.com/whatsnew.asp They keep saying 6-8 weeks.

I'm told the Vision wheels are only available for SRW applications at this time. No indication if they have plans to sell them for duallys in the future.

Re: Re: 19.5 " Vision Wheels - Picture

I called vision wheel a week or so ago and they only sell the 19. 5" wheel to Les Schwab. They will not sell direct or to anybody else. :{ :{

Oh well, I will just have to get them there.

Just received a reply to my email to them informing me the same.

Looks like the Budnik Dually X Series is our best bet as of now.

Vaughn... it would weigh a hundred pounds! My 245 H load rated Michelins plus Rickson wheel is 140 lbs. Those skinny 225's and 245's are unbreakable.

Jim... ditto on a better pictures for offset etc! Thanks for other reply. George

Is anybody runing the G124 by Goodyear?

run2trouble, I have a set (all 6) of the G124's on my company F450 4x4 (225/70/19. 5) . Love the traction, but they are a real PITA to drive straight! They follow every road imperfection and wander a bunch. Kinda sucks towing a 10k+ trailer in inclement weather. Changed pressures, etc but I'm having the front stockers put back on for the good weather months.

Vision Wheels Group buy

Hey guys,

I spoke to one of the reps for the vision wheels. He will offer a group buy on the 19. 5's.

He wants 5 sets out the door. If we get them, he will sell the set with lugs and caps for $800.

$800. ? WOW!! What a deal? 6 wheels for $800. I'll take several sets for my 03 Dually at that price.

How would the shipping going to work?

I brought this up in March......

https://www.turbodieselregister.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96896&highlight=Vision but nobody jumped on them - they are great wheels - I just can't justify going to a much more narrow tire and at over $2000 difference - for me not justified. I hope they work out. I also have very real concerns about the increased rolling mass of these tires and the brakes not being designed with them in mind... ... . My Les Schwab store didn't think it was a good idea to go this route. Now don't get me wrong - I wanted to - and I think they look great - but they just can't be justified economically. And I don't need 12-14 ply tires...

If the offset was correct I would be interested. I'm not much for tires that stick out well beyond the fenderwell. Vaughn

Vaughn, what is the stock offset of your 96? I thought these would be close for you?

Did somebody change things? If there is a competition, we may be able to get a better price.

I am not sure what, if anything changed. All I know is I called my local Discount Tire last Friday (1/14) and inquired about a set of the Vision Type 81 wheels. The information was not in their computer, so the salesman told me that they DO handle Vision wheels and he would have to call me back on Tursday (1/18) due to the MLK holiday.

So he calls me back yesterday and tells me he can had a set shipped from AL and out the door for $800. I did not press him on this price or inquire about a cash price.

I have not done any research to see if Les Schwab and Discount Tire are owned by the same company.

I will be happy to PM you his contact info if you would like.

Cheers,

tp

The offset isn't correct, unlike the ricksons aluminum wheels, or the Kore 18's. This couldl cause stress on the suspension etc due to changing the factory geometry, and definitely cause alignment issues.

I agree the price is great but the wheels' looks leave a lot to be desired, they look like stock rims (no offense jim). I think I may have to suck it up and get the Kore welds at $500/wheel, arghh. .

Scott, the offset on the 99 & older 2nd Gen Rams is very darn close to the 2000+ trucks. I have a set of Weld 18" wheels and tried one on my '96 and it sticks out as far as it did on my '01.
