19.5 wheel update?

There was some interesting discussions going on not to far back concerning the 19. 5 tires. discussions about other alternatives besides the expensive ones(ricksons, etc) such as the UPS truck tires(?), some going to the junk yard and looking about(?) and then some I believe having some less expensive ones made(?). I am sure there are other discussions as well.



CAN ANYBODY SUPPLY US WITH ANY UPDATED INFORMATION YOU MIGHT HAVE FOUND SINCE YOUR ORIGINAL POSTS. THIS IS VERY INTERESTING TO ME AND I AM SURE TO MANY TDR MEMBERS.

There is a company here in Canada,Quebec I believe,that makes 19. 5 inch plain steel rims in an 8 on 6. 5 pattern to fit the Dodge. They are SRW style. They are available only in a 6 inch wide version right now,but they are supposed to be releasing wider versions soon. My tire guy has a set on his 73 Chevy camper,and they seem to work well. I think he is using a 8. 00X19. 5 bridgestone tire,very tall and really skinny. I don't think the 225 or 245/75R19. 5 will fit on a 6 inch wide rim very well. Does anyone else know if they will fit ? They are also pretty cheap,as compared to what I have seen for 19. 5's. I'll see if I can get some prices,as I was thinking of trying a set for myself soon.

I would be very interested in those wheels. There has got to be a more affordable option. Although I got 44k out of my last set of all-terrains. I felt pretty good about the mileage. However during a rotate and balance a tech discovered a lateral tear on one and I got a freeby. The tear thing makes me a little uncomfortable while towing I need a heavier duty tire with an aggressive tread.









Also a couple of months ago I stopped to help a guy pulling a fifth wheel with a 3500 that was stopped on the side of the expwy. The front right had blown out and pieces had shred the fenderwells. You guessed it ALL TERRAIN. He said it was quite exciting
