Fore/Aft GN cushion coupler ????

The 2500# for the 6" wide, is per rim..... meant for Duallys so on each side you would have 5000#

On My single, 6. 75" wide Aluminum Rim, is 4500# each... ... . The tire is rated for 4080# @95 PSI (245/70R-19. 5")

Thanks Eric, that's what made logical sense to me. But then I've never been accused of being a rocket scientist (except by my wife :-laf at least I think that what she said  ).

Thus, Rickson 6" duallies exceed the singles by a whooping 80# . Plus, built in redundancy for safety, spare tire already in place (been there done that), improved cornering, and approximately 1000# of cool factor  . Think I'll go haul some more firewood.

I got the impression the trooper derives great satisfaction from harassing commercial drivers for minor infractions. In his mind he's probably doing work equivalent to FBI agents finding and arresting terrorists plotting to bomb big American cities.

Oh well, it takes all kinds.

I want to have this bumpersticker made up... but it would only net bad results...

" All my life I wanted to be a Police Officer but all I got was this stupid citation book "

It's getting to the point that most of the on-road police patrols are nothing more than cop wanna-be's / TAX COLLECTORS.

One city nearby here brags that traffic fines are a major source of it's revenue.

Do everyone a favor, when you see some revenuer sitting with his radar gun, flash your lights at drivers passing you. Yesterday I passed three of the little people writing tickets (the county announced they were citing drivers for 4MPH over). So I flashed my lights and got many thank you's and saw many brake lights in my mirror. There was a 5 mile stretch of cars that the little people didnt get to pull over :-laf

It is no longer about traffic safety, it is about parting you and your money.

Regarding original question: Get the dually. If you have a blowout with a dually you will live, if you have a blowout with s SRW...

I would not be surprised if the 2500# dually wheels are $50 wheels made by some OEM supplier (like Hayes Lemmerz) and re-sold. The Visions are $160 and they sell them for $227. The difference with the steels and forged ones is that nobody else makes them.

The 2540# wheels are 19. 5" by 6" steel wheels listed on the Accuride website as part number 29015. They are rated at 2540#. Southwest Wheel responded to an e-mail inquiry I sent them a few months ago. I think the price they quoted me was about $70/wheel new.

A TDR member, I've forgotten his name now, originally posted the information about the part number of the wheels. He had purchased a used set from a salvage yard. The wheels came off a GM stepvan. He described how he machined the center hub opening slightly to fit the Dodge hub and made them work.

I've seen someone recently bring up his thread with a link but don't remember what the subject line was.
