Round trip Fresno to Reno at 70-72 with cruise where safe 19. 1

One full tank around town with foot in it as usual 17. 1.

Not complaining.

I have 1100 miles on the clock and I am getting 16. 93. I am very happy with towing mileage coming in @ 12. 54 towing jeep on trailer(approx 5200 lbs). Far better than previous gasser coming in @ 11 highway & city and 7 towing. And not tomention the POWER!;)

Towing Mileage...

I'm happy with 14 MPG driving cross-country with 7,000 pound enclosed cargo trailer. Did get 16 MPG driving down East Coast. Only had to downshift four times in six days of driving. Wished I'd weight the truck and trailer combination? Didn't really wanted to know? Cruise was set at 65 MPH

Bad mpg?

fellas clean your IAT sencer, it carbons up and you get false readings to the ecm, this especially applies if you have a exhaust brake , I cleaned mine and I noticed a big diff just in how it ran, havnt checked mpg yet but I know it has to be back up again... ... ... ... . Kevin

Best in 14,000 19.9 MPG

My 02 just passed 14,000 also... Best ever 19. 9 MPG usually 19. 2 to 19. 5 MPG. Before 10K best was 18. 5 MPG. (3. 54's and an AUTO transmission)

How do you guys do it?

When I was in college last year I got around 18MPG, the best I have ever seen:eek: Before college, empty I got about 15, loaded about 10:mad: After college I average around 14 empty and do mostly highway driving. :{

WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY TRUCK??????????

What is the Cetane rating on the fuel you're using?

Are you using a Cetane booster?

These are a couple of more reasons for variances in fuel milage.

fuel milage

mmclian,

i've used flying J fuel before, on trips, and have felt that my mileage was down compared to what i was getting from other vendors. alot of people swear by them, but the only way to find out if it is the fuel, is to change to another brand for couple of tanks. they have a refinery here by me and i thought that they would have a comparable product to the other refiners. i know this going to bring a bit of conversation. sorry for long drone.

just my penny's worth.

Marv.

MMclain,

I've found that the "Truck Stop" fuel around me is usually 40 Cetane, where the "Local" fuel station's is 45 Cetane.

The T. S. is usually 20 cents a gal cheaper, but my milage seems a little better with the higher C. fuel.

I guess I should add I have used Stanadyne Performance formula from day one. I have no Idea what it would do without it? Stanadyne seemed to make a mileage difference in my 1990 when I started using it years ago. However My mileage is directly proportional to how much fun my foot is having!

I average 19- 20 mpg in the summer and 17-18 mpg in the winter. Best mileage has been 21. 4 mpg. I'm happy with those numbers.
