Probably not new news here, but after upgrading my stock (131) delivery valves to 191's the difference is night and day. No more stumble with the 370 marine injectors below 1200rpm's. Im in disbelief how smooth it is below 1200. Takeoffs in 1st gear instead of low are awesome, and there is a definete SOTP increase in HP as well. Anyone on the fence, do it up you wont be dissapointed. Oo. Took me about 3 hrs on the install taking my time and being surgically clean around the pump and injectors.

Thanks, I was planning this upgrade in the near future also so since you have the same pump as me I can know what to expect. How about the smoke factor?

Defenetly controlable. No idle haze or anything like that, when you give it some fuel on a strong takeoff it does let out a puff. My starwheel is full forward, so I could probably clean that up if I needed to.

That sounds pretty darn good, for a strong takeoff mine leaves a little puff now. But I do have the AFC kit with the light spring and full forward so maybe that makes a difference.

Ah, cool. How about smoke at WOT? I know you have the PS 62 but does your smoke clear completely up? Mine seems to haze and leave a line of smoke while I'm at WOT. I mean there's the initial blast of soot, but after that kinda a light haze line. I'm only running the stock HX35 right now though.

Once I get up to full boost (48lbs) Its pretty close to being clean. If I launch hard or lug it below 1400 rpms look out cause theres gonna be an unexpected eclipse :-laf I actually had less smoke at takeoff with my stock charger, but I guess its a tradeoff for less smoke and cooler egt's up top.

131's to 191's..... about 40hp gain! Man I remember those days of... . the first time I've done this. DV's are a 30 minute job now.

I was about that quick the first time. Took longer because I sliced my hand open on the fitting for the bypass oil filter, when I got the very last one broke loose. Bled like a stuck pig. At least it didn't hurt. :) Have a nice little reminder (scar). :-laf

Ah, with the way you swap out stuff you probably have quick-disconnects on your injector lines :-laf

I did #1, 2, and 3 DV's, put back on the lines, started it, got the air out and then did 4, 5, and 6, put those lines back on and started it. I remember when I did my injectors I had a hard time getting it bled so I figured Id do it the easy way

My truck is very easy to bleed. That day, so did I. :-laf FordCummins was there helping me (brought his DV socket), and saw it.

In all seriousness, I pull the hat or just swing it around the loosen the pump nuts and take the line holder bolts out of the intake and prop the lines up with a screw driver handle or block of wood then swap the DV's.

Doing injectors I do the same but pull the lines off as a gang. When I do either I tighten everything up except the first three lines at the injector then prime till I see fuel, tighten it all up and fire it up.

Messing with this stuff becomes an art all while, kind of like tuning a 7100. No one can really tell you everything, you just have to learn it on your own.
