Been sitting on a 1955r SKS w/ a rebuilt engraving on it. What's it worth? Nice condition and shoots well for 100 yard shots.

It probably was closer to 20 years ago, they were dirt cheap. The Sporter stock was a better unit than the folding one I used, but was not available till later. Never had a 30 rnd clip, but the 20's worked great. I hated those stripper clips, but then you do have to be somewhat coordinated... .I did the same thing @ 20 years ago at a gun show. Me and my best friend bought 2 machined instead of stamped SKS's with 2000 rounds of ammo for $350. I put a sporter stock and some Millett ghost ring sights on mine. Still have it. My buddy traded his on a Mini 30. I tried some 30 round mags but couldn't keep them from jamming. I'll stick to the stripper clips.
That makes sense, mine was a chicom/norinco... something like that.Mine is an older model. I believe it was mfg in 1955 and the "r" is for Russia.
