Anyone put a 04 24valve into a 95 dodge 2500?

Cummins in a '49/'50 Merc

Has anybody done or heard of a 5. 9 Cummins with an auto swapped into a 1969 to 1971 Dodge pickup . I have a 1993 4x4 Dodge with 109,000 KLMs on it but the body is shot .

I would think you could make it fit. Width shouldnt be an issue, but height might give yout some obsticals. Sounds very cool. How good of shape is the old Dodge in?

69 - 71 Dodge pu Cummins swap

I think it fit here is the down falls though since i know 61 to 71 dodges well the light body noise will be a huge issue and the light weight

steering gearbox im shure it break if you were to run it , If it was me id measure the cab mounts and put it on the 92 frame and be fore i did that

spray bed liner in the cab and on the bottom of the cab and make aheck ofalot stronger and quieter

note though the 65 hoods ,do sit up a touch higher ,and i got one with a small dent id sell and ship it if ya want

I don't have an older body to work with yet , I'm still looking . I know for a 1964-5 body but I like the 1969 to 71 style better . Grill , etc . I don't mind going so far to get a body but keep in mind that I do live in Newfoundland .

I have owned several older dodges before and I know there noisy inside , I was going to use the stick on insulation pads on the floor and in the doors .

I guess grafting the 4x4 front half of the 93 chassis onto the older one is probley the only way to go but I'd like to here from somebody who did it before first . I want to save my intercooler .

on the hoods the 64 -65 bolt on with no hassels and look fine my old beater has a 69-71 grill ,besides the dors on the 64-65 are crap the latches ware out way too fast i think the intercooler would fit as well as the ac

I have a friend with a couple of 70 Dodges, one has a 4cyl. 2 stroke Detroit, the other has a 6cyl Detroit. There is hope... ... . Not the Cummins eng, but still totally cool concept.

I have wanted a 64-71 swb step side for years. In the summer of 75 fourwheeler mag ran an article on a guy in Cal that had one with a hemi in it with a 8inch lift and 38".

Well two weeks ago I found a 64 that had been customized at one time and now sat in a field I found the owner and snagged it. My only thought from that moment was to put a cummins in it. I plan on beefing up the frame, I did this on a 77 frame I put under my 91 ton my brother and I doubled the frame like they did on the tons in 75-78. My other truck is a 93 Ramcharger (the truck Dodge should have built) with a cummins, all things are possible.

I think I remember reading somewhere that the pre-'72 trucks had a shorter (front-to-back) engine compartment.

My first truck was a '69 D-200 318 Auto so I would love to see someone drop a Cummins in one! :D :D

You might want to take a look at ( Larry B's web site) www.fostertruck.com/cummins/ He is the guy who sells starter solenoid contacts and rebuild kits for our starters. He put a 96 cummins with 5 speed in a 1972 Dodge chasis mount motor home motor, wich is basically a pick up. There are a fair amount of pictures on his site and he has quite a bit of info that may be of interest to you. I am inthe process of swapping out the motor and 5 speed out of my 91 1/2 regular cab , inter cooled RAM into a 93 extended cab gasser that now has the 5. 2 and 5speed,so I have an idea what you will be going thru. I hope Larry's site helps you.
