I want THIS pickup truck....er cat

Mad Max's Supercharger: Possible?

I am looking at buying this truck to start my own company. But I am not familiar with the Big Cam 1 CUMMINS that resides under the Long Hood. It is a nice looking truck red to match my baby Cummins. of course only thing is its in Illinois. I'm in AZ so how to get their? whats the input on a BC1 400hp????

Chainsaw

Where is the truck located? If isn't to far away, and you wanted to fly here, I'd be willing to pick you up at the Quad City International airport. That is the closest one to me. If it works out, pm me. I'll see what I can do. Will be gone next weekend.

I ran a 400 BC II in a '85 KW K-100. I miss that old girl. Hard to get into, and rode hard, but it had guts. :D Boss's brother totaled it. :( (Not his fault, though. :) )

Now running a T-800 KW w/ a 430hp, C-12 Cat. :D Great motor, but still doesn't feel like it has as much torque. Was hoping for a 3406 or a C-15, but I'm not complaining. I love a torque monster. :D Long strokes are nice, that way.

One plus with the Cummins, it is alot cheaper to fix. Yellow paint is expensive.

All in all they are fairly indestructable.

Although, you'll probably want more power, right?

If it has an AFC style fuel pump,(there should be a tin cover behind the throttle shaft lever).

At the rear of the pump housing there is a "cone" shaped cover held on by 4 cap screws.

One you (or someone that has done it before) pull it all apart, you will find the "button". Also, adding more shims will increse your RPM.

There will be a number on it, 12, 15, 35... . whatever. The lower the number, the more fuel rail pressure... . in simple terms. We make our own "zero" buttons. Ya really gotta watch the temps though. They'll build heat.

We've also found that a (cpl 810-1280)444 pump pushes a little more fuel.

Btw, I those long hoods are NICE.

What mileage can you expect from a bc1?1million or so?

Depends on type of useage, driver habits and proper maintanance. The potenial is there to go 1mil.

My uncle has 2 Petes w/3406B engines. They both have over 1 mil. on them. Had been overhauled (1st. time :D) 1 yr. before he bought them.

Sound like a big 5. 9 cummins!!!!!

Sound even better.

easy to modifie:D

Easier to modify than even the 5. 9L. :D To a point anyhow. The PT and PT-G pumps are easy to turn up.

I ran a big Cam 1 for a few years in a freightshaker. The Big Cam 1's had cam trouble. The co I ran for had 3 trucks with them and they all needed a cam every 250-300k. The cams would wear a lobe right off and the oil would go out the stacks. When they were do for a cam they would outsmoke just about any set-up 400b block Cat. These trucks were the big dog back then and had to drag around 63500kg full time. Today you would not even dream of hooking up to that with a 400.

We just rebuilt a 400BC in my friend's 76 KW. It's got a 007 button in it and at idle it smokes good, let alone when you floor it. We had regular pipe off the turbo to flex pipe so we could get the exhaust out the garage door (This is at the college) He stomped on it for a few seconds, and you could hardly see daylight. He also hit the jakes a few times, which was badass.
