i saw a 83 dodge 3500 with a cummins under the hood. this was a stock looking low boy dump 2 wheel drive. what year did dodge start putting cummins in there trucks

They also ran a Perkins in the early 60's W series for a few years. Most of them were the 500 and 600 series, but they did come from the factory in the one ton 300 series for a short time. When I was in high school one of my friends dads owned a salvage yard and there was a wrecked 63 or 64 (can't remember) W300 with a Perkins. My buddies dad held onto the truck and the title for several years with the intentions of finding a solid donor body to swap the drivetrain over to, but it never happened.

It's probably a conversion, and that's not always a bad thing. The first generation ('89-'93) parts swap easily with trucks back to '72-'73.

Ive always thought a perkins would be a good candidate for a small rig like a durango or a 4 runner etc if you could
pin down a bell housing adapter to use the engines and parts are easy to get

I thought i heard something about it , just were to get the bell housing adapters ?? I think a 6 cyl or a turbod 4cyl would be nice in a durango
