Hi All,

I recently bought a 1989 d 250 with automatic (I think it is the 727 trans)... I decided it would be easy enough for me to add my trans cooler by myself but I can't figure out which of the trans lines is the hot fluid out and which line is the trans fluid return from the factory cooler... . I want to plumb my cooler so that my trans fluid cooler comes after the factory heat exchanger (I will bypass the factory aux cooler).

Thanks in advance for any and all help.

Can you put your aftermarket cooler in place of the factory cooler? I'd think there shoul dbe enough room between the grille and radiator to fit a pretty good sized one in there.

Thanks for the input... . In answer to replacing the factory cooler, I will just disconnect it and plug the ends... . I will leave it there so it can act as a backing for the new and larger plate style cooler (If I remove the factory cooler I would have to fab up some support blocks since the Ac condenser only takes up 85 or so percent of the area then there would be a gap between it and the truck's radiator... . I will be mounting the plate cooler to the ac condenser and a small portion of the old factory tube cooler.

I hope that makes sense.

Thanks

Andrew
