1989 Dodge Cummins

I need transmission rebuild , exchange, or outright purchase for 89 Dodge Cummins. Would someone direct me to a reliable, honest rebuilder, or supplier.

I have clled Goernd 3 times, and their answering device took my phone number, the reason I called etc. , and they have not returned my call. I want a heavy duty transmission (AT) 3speed I believe. Any advice, help or whatever would be appreciated. E-mail -- email address removed --

Suncoast and others build good transmissions. Have you thought about a second gen OD trans?

Thanks Leper. I will research your suggestions. Can a 2nd gen trans. bolt to my present setup? I would like that OD.

The second Gen isnt a direct bolt in fit. I emailed Gorend's about Mom's transmission last week and got an email from them today, so just be patient. I can empathize with them and their response to "window shoppers," esp if they are busy with paying customers. Window shoppers are lost sales 75% of the time, but then again, they need to get back with you to make the sale.



I have a thread about the 1stGen OD trannies and aftermarket parts for them. There are some suggestions in there as well, and it would be a bolt in fit with the exception of the driveshaft, and possibly the cross member.

These folks are honest, good, and will answer the phone. Blumenthals, OK city and they will ship and yes there are others.

I believe that I qualify as a "buyer" and have now called for over two months (4 times) and left messages and my phone no. I also called and talked with secretary and she promised a return call that afternoon, but did not receive one. I e-mailed twice with no response. I notice they have changed their www.page. I wonder if they are solvent or just what the story is. Maybe they will read this and resspond, in the meantime I am still looking for a HEAVY DUTY trans. and am willing to pay the price. -- email address removed --
