Gene,

Were still waiting for you to inlighten us on how and who made the power your talking about.

And the other question would be, did they make this power with no more than $1100 invested in parts like some of us. ($650 for Pdr HX35 & $440 for POD's)

Thanks for the reply Gene,

I can guess who. Have a good idea anyways. Yeah, big bucks.

I can say none of my pumps have been on a test stand, but they do flow the fuel and last. I still run my original pump that was on my truck when I bought it new in 93. :D

I forgot I posted this back "in the day" My, how HP has grown in the First Gens.

Does anyone remember when it was 'common knowledge" that First Gens could only make 300HP? :-laf

I may start selling shirts, "I luv my VE" or "Hug yer VE today" Hope noone misreads it. :-laf

They'll say, don't ya mean VP :-laf ?? I sleep next to one everynight, so I guess I could use such a t-shirt. I'd prefer a t-shirt that says, I luv KTA!! :-laf

"Go VE you're so fine, you're so fine, you blow my mind, go VE..... go VE"

Sung to the "Go Mickey" tune of course.

(They must've put something in this clam chowder I'm eating... ) :-laf

Wow, reading this again make me remember that when I first joined TDR, all I wanted to do was get the boost up to 25 psi or so. Dang, that was sooo long ago! :D ;) Next, I only wanted to go to 30 psi. Then it changed to 35! Then I figured" what the H***, might as well see what the old gal will do.

When I first got the twins installed, all the little problems started showing up that were not as critical when I didn't need the fuel. The HP on the Dyno was 328 if I remember right. My goal with the twins was 1000 # of torque and I hope to get there with 400-425 HP. I think I'm close now but will know in a few weeks when I get the wastegate controller installed and we tune it on a dyno.

Do I think a first gen can do 300 HP? :-laf You bet! Stomp is the best example I can think of at really busting that bubble! Does it take money? You bet! Does the fun of driving it make it all worth while? Lets just say I was going to by a new truck last year but decided to keep the old one and fix it up a little - that should answer that question! ;) :-laf Oo.

I've got the POD's and the HX-40. What's next?

Port the head and install the ATS three piece?

Piers cam?

Are you running the second gen intercooler yet?

As soon as you stiffen up the auto transmission, as you mention on the web site, you'll be real close. Have you installed the 3200rpm Governor spring?

I first met Mark in Spokane in 2002 when he brought his truck down and ran 308 RWHP and I ran 247 RWHP. I have been chasing higher numbers ever since. I have not met anyone "playing" with a first gen who was not willing to help anyone to gain a little more HP especially Piers group - one and all.

My truck was totaled back in Oct - according to the insurance company. While the damage was signifacant it was all cosmetic and I am on track to have it ready for a run in Idaho in mid May. Along with all that I will be installing a Snow water/meth kit mostly for towing but that will get me over 400 RWHP.

I ran 354 RWHP at Piers DynoMania 2003 then hit 378 at DynoMania 2004. I have always built mine for towing, not just raw HP and I am very happy with my results and progress to date.

Dang Bob, I didn't hear about you wreaking the truck! Had to be after the get together up at Piers the first of OCT. Hope no body damage occurred to YOUR body when it happened! I hope you have it all back together on the schedule you mentioned. Need any more parts or have you found all you need?

ya bob, sorry to hear about the rig. that thing was the best looking 1st gen i've ever seen. oh well, huh? sounds like it'll still be blowin some smoke. not gonna make the dyno day this time(i'll be in hawaii), otherwise i'd like to see that thing run again.

talk about an old thread, i think i was still in diapers when you guys were working on these things. sure am glad you guys got it all ciphered before i showed up though. saved me a lot of work.
