1992 Fuel Lines

I see a lot of problems relating to the fuel lines on these first gen Dodge cummins trucks. Are there any replacement or upgrades for these fuel lines. Mine has a leak on top of the fuel tank and I dread getting in there to fix it. It is a 1992 D250 Club Cab and I would like to replace these lines with something more reliable. Thanks for any suggestions.

Pull the bed it will be Much easier as for a fix rubber hose is about all your going to get .

Yep rubber hose or if your fancy you can get the steel braded lines . One thing to keep in mind is to get the line that is acceptible for todays deisel fuel . If you dont mind cutting your bed you can cut a hole in the bed and make your self a access door then bolt sheet metal back over the top of it

If it only leaks when the tank is full the large plastic nut might be loose.

Mine rusted thru. My son replaced it with the factory part. No other mods or jury rigging necessary.

I am new to the diesel part of the pick-up scene. Does this truck have a return line for the fuel? I understand that the connection on top of the tank is kind of fragile, a friend told me that. What type of connector is on top of the tank? Is there a name for it? I was looking through the other post and I saw the pics from another guy that had a problem like this, that is why I'm asking about the connector. Thanks guys. Oo.

Yes they have a return line the top of the tank the piece that goes into tank has Plastic connection's but it also has Plastic fuel line so you can remove that and put rubber hose on and just use screw clamp's .

Perfect, I was hoping I would be able to do that. Thanks much. Now one other question, the rubber hose has to be diesel specific? Soneone told me you can't use regular fuel hose, it has to be "Diesel fuel hose"?

Most of " todays" fuel line is safe for deisel just ask when you buy it if you go to Napa you should be safe some of the small independants might have some old stock that breaks down after awhile
