1992 SBEC II Engine Controllers

A friend of mine has been having trouble with his 92 D-250 - CTD w/ O/D auto.

We have determined the SBEC II is bad.

I have a spare unit from a 92 W-250 w/ 5 spd. Do they interchange? If not, is there a source for reman units?

I have a SBEC out of an A/T that we are using in an engine swap project, but we can't read the part No. on either his or mine.

My understanding is that the auto will work with a manual transmission but not the other way around. Maybe others know something I don't
