Well, I am still rounding up the parts needed to convert my 1992 D250 to the 47RH transmission.

I have located most everything except the transmission itself. The 47RH is somewhat hard to find either used or as a core. I don't want a rebuilt transmission as I am going to build one up myself.

I have access to a 4WD 47RH but still need a 47RH 2WD overdrive section. I know that the intermediate shaft from the main section into the overdrive unit is different, but that is no problem.

I need to know if the later 47RE overdrive units will work on the 47RH main transmission section. The 47RE overdrive units are much easier to find. If they will work, what years if not all years will work?

Thanks in advance for helping!!!

Nope they won't work. 47RE doesn't have the governor like the RH and the shafts are weaker. You need the RH OD unit. Take a look at Cherry Auto Parts on the internet. About the best prices for working used trans I have found.

Hey there i have a core from when i almost went automatic as my getrag 5-spd neared the end of it's service life. I have a complete core with the correct ctd torque converter od unit for 4- wheel-drive. was going to have DTT do it up right but i priced it all out with a new steering column etc, etc, etc, and i was looking at 10K dollars or so..... OUCH!!!! I sure like my nv4500 from quad 4x4 these days so much I probably would have regretted a switch to auto. E-mail me at -- email address removed -- for any questions.

Speedo was on the tail housing on the 94-95's. The newer housings aren't the same.

If you need just individual pieces let me know. I have the pieces of a 47RH, 2 or 4 wheel drive.

The mechanical governor isn't the issue.
