My brothers '94 just lost the tach and the Heater/Ac blower motor... . I checked the fuses and they look fine does anyone know which fuse controls them ????

thanks

DM

if its the sensor why all of a sudden would the blower quit also???

Ill do a search for Cam/crank Possioning Sensor????

... thats the one your talking about right... . BTW it has a brand new on it.

DM

well the box for the sensor is still in the glovebox its that new,,,,,,,,

were not getting erratic readings it either works or it dont

i have already pulled the connector apart thats near the top of the motor and cleaned and still no tach ???? the AC works and the Brand new altenator is charging I really dont thinks its the crank sensor its self I dont know whats going on here????

HELP!!!!!!!

Also the voltage regulaor behind the Pass. battery has 2 wires comming out of it and there just taped up where are those suppose to go????? its been like that for a while I dont think the 2 latest issues are connected

DM

BTW :

we never changed the Sencor but we know its new ... . if it was not gapped right IMO it would be reading all over the place and wouldnt be working fine for a few days then just quit completely ????

I have found a Crankshaft Position Sensor Replacement Guide and REformated it and put it up on 3D ...

http://www.3d.otisnet.net/crankshaft_position_sensor_replacement.htm

What is this guide for just the 24 Valve 2nd gens ???????

Is this the same thing ???

Ill need to put up a note if anyone knows .

Thanks

So the guide I have listed is acctually an engine speed sensor replacement on a 12 V ???

I wonder where the Factory gauges ground out at??

DM

The quide is for 24 valve engines. 24 valve engines have crank speed sensor.

They take a reading from the crank inside the engine.

The engine speed sensor on 12 valve engines are on the outside above the damper.

Try checking clearance with about 4 to 5 business cards.

I believe if your voltemeter is charging your engine speed sensor is working.

I'm looking at my 96 service manual to see if ground is used with tach.

All other quages are working right.

DieselMinded,

Ground for tach, speedometer, voltemeter is located on radio(top, front) or near it.

Fuse 12 for tach, speedometer, voltemeter.

This is according to 96 service manual 94s mite be different.

If speedometer and voltemeter are working ground and fuse are OK.

Check tach.

Missouri Mule,

Tach worked for the last few weeks then just quit the other day when I was in the pass. Seat ... I told my brother to hit the top of the dash above the Gauge Panel and BAM the tack took right off ... . till we upgrade the radio he will just live with having to hit his dash one a month

Thanks
