My new baby and have a problem

Spy Shot of the '11 Dodge Charger.

Ok this is really starting to #@$%! me off! I am working on a truck for a guy and the heads were bad so he said he would buy the parts and I would do the labor and after we will sell it to get our money back from it. I said ok and told him that I wanted to check the rods and mains before I get any parts. So I plasti gauged the main they were good and I did the same with the rods. Then I ordered the parts when they came in I went to put it together and I broke a rod bolt ok 180,xxx miles I can see that happening. So I got a recon rod had the piston pressed on and out it in. I knew it did not feel right so I back down the torque wrench to 35 (supposed to be 45) click on both so I went to 38 click on both 40 SNAP there went another bolt. What am I doing wrong or is it just my luck to get 2 bad rod bolts in a row?#@$%! So mad I hate gassers.

Its either Nm... . or your torque wrench is way off.

Either way, there is a "standard bolt torque reference" guide that can be used... .

I found the problem it was me and the books fault there are 2 3. 0 and the book I got from the guy I am working for only had one the straight 6 3. 0 his is a v6 3. 0 the correct torque is 20FTLBS wow what a smarty I feel like LOL thanks for the help though
